Planning birthday décor gets much easier once you know which decisions actually matter. You don’t need to become a balloon expert — you need a clear picture of a few things before you book, and this guide walks you through them.
Start with the moments people will see
Our suggestion: before thinking about colors or pieces, decide where the eyes go. At most birthdays that’s some mix of three spots — the entrance guests walk through, the cake or dessert table where everyone gathers, and the photo spot where the pictures happen. You don’t need all three. One moment done beautifully beats five done halfway, and knowing which moments you care about shapes everything else.
Know your space
We install in homes, halls, and outdoor spaces. Each shapes the design differently: a living room has walls and ceiling to work with, a hall is a larger canvas, and an outdoor setup contends with open sky instead of a backdrop. You don’t have to solve any of that — that’s our job — but knowing your venue (or your shortlist) before you reach out lets the design conversation start in the right place.
Theme, colors, and the pieces that carry them
A theme doesn’t have to mean characters on everything. Often it’s a palette — two or three colors that show up in the garland, the backdrop, and the table — plus one statement piece that makes the theme unmistakable.
Milestone ages: number pieces
For milestone birthdays, a giant number is the classic move — and there’s more than one way to build it. What we’ll ask when you check your date
Our inquiry form is short. It asks for your name and contact details, your event date (flexible dates welcome), the event type, your venue or city, which package you’re considering — “Not sure yet” is a perfectly good answer — and your vision. That last field is where everything above pays off: the moments you’ve chosen, your palette, the statement piece you have in mind.
When to book
Two to four weeks ahead is the comfortable window — and peak weekends fill faster, sometimes months ahead. Checking your date doesn’t commit you to anything: we reply within 24 hours, usually much sooner, and nothing is booked until you say yes.
