About These Terms
These terms explain how Emerald Balloon Designs (“EBD,” “we,” “us”) works with clients and how you may use this website. They apply when you browse emeraldballoondesigns.com, request a quote, or book us for an event.
When you book, you’ll receive a written proposal and booking agreement covering the specifics of your event — dates, pricing, design, and scope. That signed agreement is the actual contract for your booking. If anything in it differs from this page, the signed agreement controls.
How we handle your personal information is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.
Our Services and Quotes
We design, build, deliver, and install balloon décor for events in Cypress and the greater Houston area.
Submitting a quote request through our website isn’t a booking — it starts a conversation. We’ll follow up to talk through your event, and if we’re a good fit, we’ll send you a written quote.
A quote is based on the details you give us: your event date, venue, size, design direction, and timing. If those change, the price may change.
Quotes are valid for 7 days and are subject to availability.
Booking Your Date
A date is not officially reserved until the proposal and booking agreement has been signed and the required retainer has been paid.
Until both are complete, your date stays open and available to other clients. An inquiry, a quote, a consultation, or a verbal agreement doesn’t hold a date — we know that’s not always intuitive, so we’d rather say it plainly than have anyone lose a date they thought was theirs.
We take a limited number of events per date, and dates are booked on a first-confirmed basis.
Pricing and Payment
Pricing depends on the design, size, materials, venue, travel, and timing of your installation. Your written quote sets out the total for your event.
Standard delivery is included with our packages within 20 miles of our Cypress base. Beyond that, and for standalone items, delivery is quoted from your event address and shown in your Proposal before you book.
How payment works:
- A 50% retainer is due when you book. This reserves your date and our time for it.
- The remaining 50% balance is due 7 days before your event.
- If you book within 7 days of your event date, the full amount is due at booking, and a rush charge shown in your quote applies. Rush bookings are subject to availability.
We use Stripe, a third-party payment processor, to accept payments. Payments go through Stripe’s secure system — we don’t collect or store your card or bank account details, and this website has no checkout.
Sales tax is applied where required by Texas law.
Cancellations
We understand that plans change. Here’s how cancellations generally work:
- 15 or more days before your event — the 50% retainer is non-refundable. Any payments beyond the retainer may be refunded.
- 7 to 14 days before your event — the retainer is non-refundable, and any additional payment may be reduced by costs we’ve already committed to for your event, such as ordered materials.
- Less than 7 days before your event — payments are non-refundable.
The retainer is non-refundable because booking your date means turning down other work for it, and because design and material planning begins as soon as you book.
The specific cancellation terms for your booking are set out in your signed agreement.
If We Have to Cancel
If we have to cancel your event for reasons within our control, you’ll receive a full refund of what you’ve paid us for the affected service. We’ll let you know as soon as we possibly can, and we’ll help where we’re able — but we can’t guarantee we’ll be able to arrange a replacement.
Rescheduling
If your date needs to move, tell us as early as you can.
We offer one courtesy reschedule when:
- you ask at least 7 days before your original event date
- your new date is available on our calendar
- your new date falls within 90 days of the original
Your retainer transfers to the new date. If the date, scope, location, or other details change, the price may be adjusted to match.
Access, Setup, and What We Need From You
Balloon installations are built on-site and are time-sensitive. To deliver what you’ve booked, we need:
- accurate venue information, including address, load-in details, and building access rules
- access to the space at the agreed time, with the area ready for us
- a safe place to work, with power available if your design requires it
- a point of contact who’s reachable on the day
If we can’t get into the venue at the agreed time, or the space isn’t ready, it may affect what we’re able to complete. We’ll always work the problem — but delays outside our control can affect the final result.
About Balloon Décor
Balloons are a handmade, natural product, and a few things are worth knowing up front:
- Colors vary slightly between manufacturing batches, and finishes can look different in person than on a screen.
- Sizes and shapes vary slightly. No two installations are identical, including compared to our portfolio photos.
- Balloons are affected by heat, sunlight, humidity, and handling. Some popping and softening over time is normal for the material, not a defect.
- Latex balloons oxidize over time, which changes their finish.
We design with all of this in mind and use quality materials, but we can’t promise every balloon will stay perfect for the full length of an event.
Outdoor Installations
Outdoor installations carry real risk, and Texas weather is hard on balloons. For outdoor events where it’s appropriate, we use balloon products specifically made to hold up better outdoors.
That’s a way of reducing risk, not a guarantee. Outdoor installations are still affected by heat, direct sunlight, humidity, wind, rain, and handling, and we can’t guarantee that balloons won’t pop, deflate, discolor, or change in outdoor conditions.
We’ll tell you honestly when a design isn’t well suited to an outdoor setting, and we’d rather have that conversation early than have you disappointed on the day.
After Your Event
Once we’ve completed an installation and left the venue, the décor is in your care and the venue’s.
Normal breakdown and removal is included with every package. For standalone items, your Proposal states exactly what’s included. Your Proposal also states the anticipated breakdown timing.
Photography and Portfolio Use
We photograph our completed installations and may use those photographs in our website portfolio, on social media, and in marketing materials.
When personal information appears in a photo — a name on a sign, a certificate, an address, or similar details — we make reasonable efforts to crop or blur it before using the image publicly.
If you’d prefer we not photograph your event, or not use photos of it publicly, just tell us. We’re glad to accommodate that.
If your venue has its own photography restrictions, please let us know in advance.
Our Work and Website Content
Our photographs, written content, branding, and other original materials on this site belong to Emerald Balloon Designs. You’re welcome to view and share our work. Please don’t copy our photographs or content and present them as your own, or use them to promote another business.
Balloon décor is an inspiration-driven craft, and we’re not claiming that nobody else can create a similar design. Our concern is our actual photographs and content, not the existence of similar work.
If you send us inspiration images from another studio or artist, we’ll create our own interpretation rather than promise to reproduce another artist’s work exactly.
Venues and Other Vendors
We often work alongside venues, planners, photographers, and other vendors. We’re responsible for our own work and our own team, but not for the actions, schedules, policies, or mistakes of a venue or another vendor, including delays they cause.
Venue rules — what can be attached to walls, ceiling height limits, load-in windows, insurance requirements — are set by the venue, not by us. If a venue restricts what we can do, we’ll adapt the design as best we can.
Using This Website
Please use this website for what it’s for: seeing our work and requesting a quote. Don’t interfere with the site, submit false information through our forms, scrape our content, or use the site unlawfully.
We may link to other sites, including social media and vendor partners. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or terms.
We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we can’t guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
Limits on Our Responsibility
We stand behind our work. If something goes wrong on our end, talk to us and we’ll make it right where we reasonably can.
That said, our responsibility for any event is limited to the amount you paid us for that event. We aren’t responsible for indirect or knock-on losses — other event costs, deposits with other vendors, or disappointment about how an event went overall.
Nothing here limits any responsibility we’re not legally permitted to limit.
Events Outside Anyone’s Control
Some things are genuinely outside anyone’s control — severe weather, road closures, power failures, venue closures, supply shortages, accidents, illness, or emergencies.
If something like this prevents your event from going ahead as planned, here’s how we approach it:
- First, we’ll try to reschedule. If a new date works for both of us, that’s usually the best outcome, and your retainer moves with you.
- If rescheduling isn’t immediately possible, we may offer a credit toward a future event.
- If the event can’t be rescheduled at all, your signed booking agreement sets out how payments are handled.
Because neither of us is at fault in these situations, we approach them as fairly as we can, taking into account any custom materials or costs already committed to your event.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute relating to our services will be handled in the courts of Harris County, Texas.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. The terms in your signed agreement at the time of booking are the ones that apply to your event.
